FBCStaff-Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told the Supreme Court in his stay pleadings that bifurcation of the primary was a viable way to deal with the absence of final legislative and congressional lines and, as reported last night, the Republican Party of Texas submitted a proposal that would have moved certain races to May 29, while keeping other races on March 6.
“Republican Chairman Steve Munisteri told the court that a number of members of the congressional delegation were concerned that splitting the primary would provide a significant benefit “a different part of the body politic,” generally understood to be the tea party.”
Texas Rep Pete Olson signed the letter asking for one primary at a later date along with:
Henry Cuellar (D)
Eddie Bernice Johnson (D)
Al Green (D)
Sheila Jackson Lee (D)
Gene Green (D)
Ruben Hinojosa (D)
Call Rep Olson’s office and ask why he’s joined with democrats and not supporting the tea party.
